had a horse vetted and got certif though post but no passport when vet did vetting was missplaced at time. as i have payed should vet do anothor one so there are no marking on the diagram etc will i need this for insurance

Should vet do another what? They did the vetting you paid for - it's not their fault that the passport wasn't present.

If you mean a new passport, no the vet shouldn't, you should apply to the PIA for a replacement :)

sorry il explain when you get a vet certif it meant to have marking etc on passort no etc but this is all missing as passport was not to hand at vetting and as i was not there could of been any horse

It was my understanding that vets could not DO a vetting without the passport present. I have been involved (on both sides) of half a dozen bettongs the last few years and when vetting has been booked (by different vets) I have always been informed no passport = no vetting.

i know i dont need passport for insurance but on getting the vet certif back there are no passort details on the vets certificate so what im saying is on a vet form all thats filled on is date of vetting and that it passed no horse marking or passport number etc

thanks galaxy thats what i thought the passport had to be present for them to vetting but this vet does know the horse

Any vets certificates I've seen have description drawings on too, regardless of passport..... How do you know the vet vetted the right horse if no description????? Is this a dealer you are buying from? I'm worried you have used their vet.....

Is the horse microchipped? I was told by my vet that if the horse is chipped they are not required to fill in the markings on the diagram on the vetting certificate as the chip cannot be duplicated in another horse so the horse could never be passed off as another (hope that makes sense :))
