hi i have a horse on loan but she has not been broken in for riding is anyone on here can lend a helping hand as i cant do it, she is 7 years old and shes 12hh her breed is welsh sec b mare the reason why she hadnt been broken she was used for breeding and owner has to many horses to deal with so can anyone help i love in northampton uk

not very experienced and im to heavy for her its for my daughter to ride

OK then, how experienced is your daughter? Are you sure an unbroken 7yo is the best loan pony for her?

Make quite sure that the horses insurers cover of £10,000,000 as many do not and a recent court case demonstrated that it is essential to have cover to this level

Cant help but wonder how you ended up with an unbroken horse to loan for your daughter when both of you are inexperienced??

she has had riding lessons but she dont know how to break in a horse she is only on intermediate level on her riding and i can ride but im too heavy i know how to break a horse but needs some one lighter then 18 stone also we are not unexperience i would break horse in if i could but due to my weight problem i cant

Oh please get an instructor or experienced person to help you, backing a horse is not easy!!! If it’s not done right your daughter could end up hurt!

im not getting my daughter to ride her until the horse is fully broken in thats why im trying to find a perfessional rider to break her in
