Hi
I just wondered if any one could help me?
2 weeks ago my horse went lame on the near side fore leg, there was no swelling, heat or obvious signs of trauma but thought it looked to be in the fetlock area. After a few days it seemed to get better so we began our usual exercise. Then when I went up on Saturday morning to hack out he was lame again. Still no heat or any signs of any thing abnormal apart from the lameness. Because there is no heat or anything I am finding it hard to discover where it is it is coming from. Thinking maybe the shoulder but not entirely sure. We have the vet coming out tomorrow to see him but just wondered if any one could shead a little light on this???? I know its hard not being able to see him walk.
Also in between him being lame the first time and now we have had him re shod and the farrier noticed nothing out of the ordinary with the horse, he seemed fine no soreness or bruising in the hoof.He stood as good as gold as he does eveytime he is shod.
Thanks in advance

It is hard to say without seeing the horse but my horse went lame a month ago, a week after shoeing, so I investigated the farrier route, shoe off, poultice etc, farrier said it may be a bruise, which could last 2-3weeks, so he had pads on his feet and I gave him the 3 weeks, still lame although MUCH better, now only in canter, under tack on the right rein (it is the right fore). Vet came out, trotted up sound, flexion tests, nothing, lunge sound. Did higher up flexion test, as I suspected it was higher up. Lame! It looks like he has pulled a muscle, physio coming on Fri to put him back together :) He lame to start with but as it eased it was showing by him moving "oddly" tipping his shoulders, rather than moving his limb straight out. This may or may not be of any use to you but I thought I would share just in case! :) Good luck
