Help! Washing Lemieux sheepskin half pad

I put mine on a wool or 30 wash. Also smear hair conditioner over the wool side before I pop it in? Not sure where I got that from, must have read somewhere! :)

Sensitive or wool wash, dry naturally then, once dry, spray a little diluted hair conditioner onto it and brush well with a fine tooth dog comb or similar.

If it's wool bit not sheepskin then you can dry on a radiator or similar. It's only if it's real skeepskin (i.e leather) that you need to dry carefully.

Thanks guys, it's the sheepskin one (the pro sorb model). Can I use normal hair shampoo on it or does it have to be a wool detergent?

Normal shampoo won't do the pad any harm BUT it'll make your washing machine explode with bubbles if you use too much!! If you do use shampoo then dampen the pad in the bath/sink, brush shampoo through it, lightly rinse off then wash without detergent.

Rub in lots of hair conditioner into the wool before you wash. I buy the massive sainsburys own for this reason. Then I leave to dry and brush over with a Velcro cleaner brush when nearly dry and again when completely dry. Haven't needed to do my half pad yet but do this with my Le Mieux girth covers and they come up like new, much better than wool wash ever was.

Hi ! Sorry for resurrecting an old thread! Just wondered if you apply conditioner to half pad and wash on a wool wash do you still then need to add detergent ? Will normal detergent be okay ? X
