All you eventing and hunting peeps, what reins / gloves combo do you use. I am a mere dressage rider, but in the rain I just can't grip the reins. Reins are rubber (not bio-thane ones but decent grippy ones) and my gloves are macwet. Comp gloves are Roeckle. Need suggestions please for better grip.

As a serial rein slipper I recommend the various Henry James rubber reins with stoppers at every 5cm. They aren’t unduly bulky, so I find them fine for flatwork.

These are what I have.

I second this

I use SSG gloves and they've never let me down even xc in the pouring rain. Generally I just use plain rubber reins with them but I also use them for showing too with leather reins.

I have the bio-grip version of these. The stoppers mean I don’t have to wear gloves all the time.

I have a sample of Eventa. I bought smooth Sabre soft leather reins instead and taught share mare not to lean on them. But if I had needed more, I would have bought her those Eventa ones.
As a RS hacker for many years I absolutely hate those stoppered RS reins.

Not everyone’s cup of tea but I love webbed continental reins. I event and have the Albion ones and there’s no slippage in the rain, I wear Roeckl gloves or no gloves.
