Hi I have a 14.2hh sticky gypsy cob. She is as good as gold and not naughty but she is strong. She is currently in a Wilkie snaffle and we just need something a little stronger my daughter has trouble stopping her. She does tend to toss her head around and she just puts her head down and pulls. She will never take off or anything she’s just very forward and impatient. Hates standing still etc. I don’t want anything harsh just a little more breaks would be good and what nose and would be best

A Kimblewick was recommended for my daughter’s pony who sounds similar. Or try a universal? You can use the bottom ring and curb strap if needed.

My current only has a 2 ring gag which seems good too, the universal would probably be a good place to start though

I’d suggest seeking out a bit fitter in your area - rather than spending loads on trial and error bits, the professional can guide you to one’s which will suit your pony’s mouth confirmation and you can try out several until you find the best option. Look at Horse Bit Fit website or Equine Fitters Directory.

Agree with the above.
Also consider why the pony is feeling so impatient. It takes two to pull, and there may be some retraining which could help. A relaxed horse is rarely strong so look at all options, not just bitting up.
