Looking for a bit of advice really,
I currently have a lovely 15.3hh 12year old mare on loan, nice all-rounder with a very sweet temperament on loan with view to buy, having to make the decision middle of July time.
However my dilemma is that i'm going on school exchange for 6 weeks from 10th July, and when I get back I am due an operation on my feet which will put me out of riding for at least 2months (probably more) and so she'd probably just get turned away
Pros are that she really is a lovely mare, extremely easy to do, I can lead my little brother on his pony off her and my Mom and friend also enjoy riding her out from time to time. I've no doubt i'd be able to get out and about competing her etc but with exams haven't had time apart from a few locals.
Cons are that she'd do nothing for at least 3 months, also she is 12 so if I was looking to sell in the future it may be more difficult than if I returned her to loaner and bought a younger horse once i'd sorted everything out?
I think probably the realistic option would be to return her to her owner, however as she has got a new horse and I think really would like me to buy (have kept in touch and she is pleased with how she is going) I've ended up feeling under pressure to buy! If I were decide not to buy her do you think it would be an idea to offer to sell her for her?
Popcorn for any helpful people who'd like to sort my jumbled mind out for me!
