Ok, so we bought a lorry to convert into a horsebox. We sent the box to X company (not huge company) who started the conversion. They have done luton, tack lockers, horse area, toilet, ramp ect. But we are doing the living ourselves. All was well, apart from them taking longer than they said they would.

We made a big point that we wanted the paint job to be good, as a lorry on the yard was under a year old and already showing signs so cracks ect. X company told us they treated all areas prone to cracks ect with special paint. So they sprayed it. We went down a few days later. It was bad, marks, places missed, generally poor. X said they would put it all correct.
We went and picked the box up afew days later. The next day we when away on holiday for a week.
So we came back on monday, and have been round the box with a fine tooth comb. Its shocking

I am gutted. The have built it well, but finished it off so bad. There is a dint in a new locker door? there is paint cracking off? Bubbling up? paint drips?
So what do we do? We have not paid him for the painting of it yet. I have no intensions of doing so either.

But where do we stand? Somebody said we have to give him 3 goes at getting it right? (he has 1 go left then) Oh i dont know, we are all just horrified.

Any ideas guys??

Thats terrible, I would call and explain that the conversion is great but the paint job isnt good enough, give them one more try at painting and if not satisfied take it somewhere else!

thank god you haven't paid for the paint job! insist that it needs proper stripping of the rubbish job done so far, then very good preparation (which is the key to a good paint job), then good quality paint, allowed to dry out properly. if he's not up to it, get him to strip it all back, and then you should take it to someone who will do a good job.. not easy though.
i took my old box to the powerwash before Windsor 3-day and the paint started coming off in sheets.
