Yippee, OH agreed to me looking for a horse on loan, whilst mine off injured, where's the best place to look, i've asked farrier, and all my friends, anywhere else?

Two options nice project poss short term to "play with" over the summer at RC's, or one able to BSJA longer term with view to buy. Any recomendations? should i advertise, and if so where is best, help need geegee now !!!!!!

I first did a Google search for "horses to loan". Then I bookmarked every single site, and phoned or e-mailed anyone who had a remotely recent, appropriate ad. I did this for about six weeks.

Out of the three responses (yes, three, that was it), only one worked out - and he's perfect!

hores mart
horsequest
freeads
ad trader
ad mart
ect blimey i spent all day everyday on these sites looking,it became an obsession it was terrible, thankfully ive found one now and this site is my new obsession lol lol !!!

i was the same, addicted til i shared, then i bought one, and now this is my new addiction! forget ebay (apart from all things horsey haha) and as for emailing my friends? what friends? (unless you have a horse!!)

I also did google searches and contacted all that seemed appropriate. None of these were suitable (too far away/couldn't move yards/etc), so I resorted to advertising on the free horsey sites and in my signature on forums that allowed advertising in sigs. I had the advert up for maybe 2wks on another forum when I had a reply, only 5miles away. The next week he arrived

Local tack shops are always good to check out or advertise in, as at least then you only recieve relatively local replies.

its so strange how it works out and he will be with me on sunday yippee
a farrier friend of mine also put the word out with his farrier friends and other horsey friends where looking
word of mouth is a very good way to find one
