help with a course question!

Am hoping someone one here can help with this- not sure if im just being really stupid, but am currently studying a short course in puppy training and one question i need to answer is- why is newspaper preferred to glossy magazines for the floor of a puppy pen for toilet training?
Not sure what to put here, any ideas would be great!

The newspaper would soak up the urine whereas a glossy wouldn't so it would just lay on top?

As Gina said, and also the glossy paper would just slide around the next over lapped layer of glossy paper and it would slide apart because the shiney surface makes it slippy, therefor the p!ss would then go all over the floor

just an extra theory to add in

It's also a friggin nightmare to get the staples out that join the bloody sheets together so u don't have toplace a whole paper down at once, and if left in they sometimes stick up and the puppies could injure themselves.

Can u tell, we somtimes run out of newspapers to line the kennels at work and have to use the glossies
