I was wondering if anyone had any experience of severe allergic reactions from the field. My 2 year old came in from the field he has been in for a year with hugely swollen cheelks, glands and throat that caused him to sound like an asthmatic. His temperature rose to 39.9! The vet was called immediately and thought he looked so bad it could have been strangles. This was clearly not the case as he made a complete recovery overnight in his stable. He was turned out the next day and came in with the same symptoms. He has now changed fields and the reaction has gone but his breathing is still sounding noisy. The field change can only be temporary and I want to get rid of the breathing issues as soon as possible. Vet is coming back tomorrow for a checkup. Anyone had any experience or have any advice on this one? I'm figuring that it must be an acute allergy to a new pollen or spore but it's a new one for me!
