Heya,
I've been riding with the same bit for the last two weeks, with no problems, I used a new bridle(the one she'll be showing in) with a new bit which is the type(i can't think of its name) but its got slightly more curve on it than the old one, should this affect her behaviour, as shes been playing up, or is this mere coincidence? Any help would be gratefully received!

Could be, if she's very particular. Alternatively the new bridle may be uncomfortable in some way. Can you switch bits easily?
Or it could have just been her mood today!

Pardon me for adding to your post AngelDelight! Some extra info: the original bit this ned was mouthed and broken in is a bog standard, french link eggbut. Smart pink bridle which for some reason she can't wear in a dressage test lol!!! No taste some people! So, bought a new black bridle and - coz I'm bone idle about swapping bits all the time, tried to buy an identical french link. Tack shop didn't have any but they DID have a very similar one which they said was even kinder - same size, same lozenge in the middle, just slightly more curve on the "arms" of the bit. Can't remember the name. JP something sounds familiar. Somebody famous. Could be coincidence, could be something else but ned pulverised poor AngelDelight the first time she wore it and again today. Total cow. Head in the air, napping to the gate, trying to charge THROUGH the fence, ignoring all aids. Put her on the lunge and she was doing the same thing until the superb instructor got her listening and going reasonably well. Rider back on again and things deteriorated a little. Got it sorted again. Rider OFF the lunge and got 5 mins decent work out of ned. AngelDelight deserves a medal. Ned only been backed about 7 weeks and has been going SOOOO nicely so lord only knows whether this latest rebellion is the bit, attitude, getting fitter, testing boundaries or what.

Have to say, Angel Delight rode The Kevinette Monster brilliantly and was unfazed by being charged about with all over the arena, and all this despite sprained ligaments in her knee from the first episode 2 days ago.
