Help with Black Feather

I haven't been showing for long, so I know some of the tricks for presenting white feather - woodflour, chalk etc, but I was just wondering if there was an equivilant to use on black feather? Something to 'fluff it up', perhaps?

Also, he has a small streak of white down the inside of each leg - you can see the inside of the back leg on the photo below - should I cover that with black, or leave it?

Cant help with the feathers, but I think you should at least pick the shavings out of his mane ;-)

Wood flour after drying would fluff them.
