I've had my new mare a few months now and as lovely as she is she just has no personal space boundaries! She is a 16.3 ID x WB.
she drags when she doesn't want to go somewhere. Pulls me to the field, pulls me back to her stable, headbutts me when she wants me to hurry up. Have to push her away out of my space constantly! some days she is really good, but others not! She is slowly starting to improve with consistency but would love some groundwork ideas and any control head collars people recommend thanks!!

Use a simple rope halter (the 'natural horsemanship') type and a much longer lead rein. Then you will find it easier to turn her hen she tries to pull you. Practice in hand getting her to move her quarters over and away from pressure. You can do this simply when she is in her stable or standing to be groomed. Don't move round her, ask her to move it of your way, all the time, it has to be a habit. She will probably test you for a bit to see if you're consistent.

If it is getting any worse get a little professional help before it goes too far.

Good luck

I always use a rope (cow) halter for control, very easy to adjust/tighten and release, lead from the shoulder, staying close to the horse for extra control, circle the horse if it deviates at all from walking properly. Insist that the horse moves over for you every time in the stable, rather than you walking round her. It does take time and consistency. If you ever let her get away with doing her own thing, you will be back at square one. I like to reinforce correct behaviour with treats.

I have used a Gary Withefords rope headcollar very much like the Monty Roberts. So much control and educates them and lkeeps you safe!
