I have at long last found a saddle to fit my horse, but it is brown. (not havanna, but a tan/ royal oak colour). http://www.barnsby.com/products/saddles-barnsby-schockem-hle-jumping-saddle/default.asp Similar to this. My mare is bay, a slighly lighter bay so actually goes quite well. The question is, do I go for a havana brown bridle, or a more John Whitaker reddish brown bridle. I know nothing is going to match exactly so do you go looking for something nearly there or just stick to brown which wont match.

Dilemmas!

Thanks for any input as dont want to stand out any more than normal!

id always go for havana, every time. but i used to show and it was always drummed into me that it had to be havana

i have a jeffries show bridle that is a traditional havana (modern havana is browner, traditional more reddy-brown) and that might do?

Ishy that bridle really looks good on your horse.

Thanks all. Think I will try and find a slightly redish brown rather than a really dark brown as long as I can find a girth and martingale to match! Thanks to thieves I am now starting my tack collection from scratch!

Thanks all.

Ishy, having had a look at he newmarket, I definately dont like the colour and dont think it will suit the horse.

M_C your horse looks quite similar in colour to mine and looks great on your horse, so may go with MT.

punkpony, I think Barnsby might do similar, but bridles are very expensive and saddle is second hand so has faded a lot.

Think it will be a trial and error.
