Hi, my boy had laminitis this summer (June) and has done well in during day and out on a paradise type track overnight with a bit of turnout in the bigger bit of field with a muzzle to allow more of a charge about /roll . At some point he will need to go onto the winter area in the middle of his track daytime and come in at night so as not to trash the track and to give more grazing over winter but I'm worried how to do it. He can't wear a muzzle for more than a few hours as it rubs ( tried everything ). So do I gradually introduce more grass by moving the fence over or will that trash to ground too quickly once is gets wet ? I have 2 acres of my own to play with and can do whatever I need to with it. He isn't shod and doesn't charge about much but we are on heavy clay. Any ideas would be great as I am a bit confused !!

I just gradually strip graze in from the track once the grass stops shooting so much. The ground doesn't trash too much as new area is opened daily.

Fab, that's great I thought that would work but wasn't sure. Is great having my own space as can do what I need to but is good to be able to ask advice on here have had horses for years but always on part livery so is very different doing it all myself !
