My 12 year old daughter was selected as part of our RC junior SJ team and they have qualified for the national championships at Lincoln in September. Problem is the other 3 are all 17 and have all been before and I know she was very nervous for the qualifiers and it was her scores that were dropped, she got better as the competion went on. She rated nerves as 7/10 1st round, 6/10 2nd round and 1/10 for the jump off (as they knew they had qualified) and she jumped far better in the jump off. I have suggested rescue remedy but she is very sceptical, therefore I don't think it will work anyone got any other suggestions (I don't think a shot of whiskey would be a good idea)?

I just used to always visualise myself riding well and also was confident I could go around - this always helped

I give my daughter who is 12 rescue remedy but she also plays her nintendo DS all the time until its time to do something as it takes her mind off things alot. Also i make sure she takes lots of deep breaths and try to focus on what she is doing not where she is. These all really help as she used to cry and go to pieces

Good luck anyway

Kalms, always take max dose for a big competitition, lowering the dosage for smaller ones. I swear by them.....they got me on a plane which is something because I am terrified of flying.

Get her a bottle and she will be fine

Thanks for you're suggestions, we've time to try them out, hopefully she'll be OK on the day as they are both capable of doing the job.
