My yougsters has had a few hives ever since i bought her about 5 months ago. Now these dont bother her, can on the odd occassion be a little itchy but she never scratches them. They started in her flank area just on one side and are now on top of her bum the same side and go to just behind where the saddle sits and some have started appearing on the other side but just one here and there, practically clear. There are none at all in front of where her saddle fits or on her neck shoulders face etc. Now i have a lot of experience with hves and food/pollens as i had a horse that would be covered in the spring/summer! She had them when i got her, then at my yard, then 3 1/2 weeks ago i moved her to a new yard and she still has them. Ive tried her on hay and haylage, she is only fed Dengie Healthy Hooves and Maxafles joint supplement (only recently on the supplement) her food is different from when i bought her and its made no difference, she was on sugarbeet and nuts. I wouldnt have thought it was something in the field as she has ben in a number of different fields at 3 diferent yards and nothing has changed. Its driving me crazy as i just want them to go!
My vet come to vaccinate my other mare last week as wasnt worried but he suggested going up to Leahurst and doing text etc if im that bothered! Now im not made or money but nore to i want my horse to suffer, but thats the point they arnt bothering her at all so im not going to that expense.
Anyone had anything similar? All info and ideas much appreciated
