Iv just got a horse on loan he's an ex racer and due to his mane being rubbed so much his owner has hogged him. Can I still compete unaffiliated dressage and showing with this? As I know it's not traditional. Thanks x

Unaff dressage that's absolutely fine, there are no rules about plaiting being mandatory for dressage and at unaff no-one will mind.

Not sure about showing though, I'd be inclined to say you would get penalised as cobs can be hogged but sports horse/riding horses should be plaited?

You can buy fake plaits, fake mane etc - maybe you could try growing it back (with the owners permission) and adding extensions/false plaits for the areas that are missing?

Hope this helps!
