After many years of being a happy hacker, not much schooling or lessons and no competing i am being bitten by the bug as daughter has horse on loan that is a schoolmaster. She is v experience ,v capable but will do as much or as little as you want which is great for me.
The thing is she is 16.3 hanoverian, v long backed and quite difficult to gather up. As she is 17 she can be stiff and needs a fair bit of working in and is naturally v laid back.(again not complaing ).
My aim is to work towards some low level dressage to start with and would be grateful for ideas. Her owner is v fit has a good core strength and rides her beautifully as does daughter now. I will try and build up general fitness and use lots of transitions, half halts etc. The trot is not bad but i lose her in canter and she becomes long and straggly and runs on. Really value any tips please..
