For anyone bored, please help me find suitable neddies for my parents. :)

It's about time my Mum got a new horse so that she can enjoy the countryside and also ride out with me when I go on Belle (instead of being banished to a bike!).

The problem is firstly that she's short on money and I don't think would manage anything over £2000. The second issue is that my Stepdad would LOVE to have a go too so it would need to be suitable for a novice man. The horse doesn't need to do anything except be bombproof in traffic and a good hack out - very safe for a lady who has lost her confidence whilst also not being too ploddy. Must be quiet as a mouse in open fields and go past anything on the roads, we have to do a lot of roadwork to get anywhere. It will never need to compete in anything, work in a school really (except maybe teaching my stepdad the very basics) and the ability to jump is also not required. Mum is fussy and is less into coloured types.

So the criteria are as below. If anyone is bored and would like to offer suggestions of suitable horses then I would be really grateful to see what you find. Parents live in Bedfordshire so South East, would travel up to a few hours if necessary I think.

- £2000 or less
- Safe for lady rider who has lost her confidence (but used to go hunting and the like)
- Suitable for novice man to have an occasional go on, he weighs around 14.5 stone max and is quite fit
- must be bombproof in all traffic
- excellent hack, pref. snaffle mouth and very quiet in fields, non-competitive when out with others.
- live out all year round

Many many thanks. I am baking a plum and almond crumble cake in a min so you are welcome to have some warm from the oven!

No help, sorry, just wanted to wish you good luck with your search.

I am looking for something totally safe to share with my husband, he is a novice rider, and I have joint problems, so a rocking horse on legs would be great! :D
