friends retriever 'retrieved' one of my chickens today! I thought she was dead but she wasn't. took her to our vet (farm and pet vet) they said she has 1 puncture wound which has been cleaned, antibiotic put in and glued. they said put her back with the others which I have done. they aren't picking on her but she's not moving and when she does she's a bit wobbly. she's in the coop. should I crate her in the house for tonight so she gets food/drink? (I gave her some corn before putting her back and she ate a bit). but then would have to re-introduce her to the others? maybe I should just pick her up and feed/water her a few times this eve? if she had been well and truly mauled I would have gone straight to my farmer to put her out of pain but the dog has more carried her away than properly attacked her (young dog so still learning commands and I didn't realise she was with me at the run). I just want to give her a good chance of recovering. any ideas?

As it's quite late in the day, just let her roost with the others over night and see how she is in the morning. If she is still quiet then, I would bring her in the morning for some tlc.

Thanks millsandboon, she is ok, I have her in this morning for food and water as she's not moving well, there must be some damage to her leg or wing as she's a bit wobbly still, doesn't look broken though. She has had some water and cat food this morning so I'm happier that she is ok except for the injuries needing to heal
