I am after some information on how much grass livery in and around the Devon area should cost, including bringing in by yard owner for vet and farrier when necessary and hay, feed costs included.

Many thanks

I'm not in the Devon area... but for full grass livery (which is what I assume you're asking about?) I charge £40 a week, and during the winter if hay is needed I split the cost of hay between the horses eating it and charge for that on top.

Hope that helps!

gosh 40 a week grass livery seems expensive..I dont pay anything as my YO is a great friend of mine..I also get my hay free too off him.... grass livery around here is 10 quid a week....

Can he be a great friend of mine too!!!!!:D

I was thinking around the 40 quid mark though, especially as yo will be doing everything with her, though i would expect hay and feed in with this!

I think £40 is a lot.

Livery yard where I am charges £25 pw for grass livery, which I think is quite alot whereas DIY is £45 for grazing, stable, haylage and free use of outdoor (40x60), small outdoor and use of cross country and s/j field in the summer. Free trailer/box parking too. Although you do get those facilities with grass livery too.

i think your forgetting the OP wants FULL grass livery - eg everything done with her horse + hay and feed. Full livery with a stable is about £100+ so £40 without isnt too bad...

I charge £25 per horse for DIY stable and turnout. I also rent a further 4 acres out for £120 per month.....just grass and mains water no shelter, they sort fencing/maintainance etc.

Ah but you see, £40 a week is for FULL grass livery, which includes hard feed as needed, checking, worming, etc etc etc. AND free use of my facilities which include:
Indoor school
Outdoor school
Salted showjumping paddock
75 acres of post and railed grazing
Wash box with hot and cold water and solarium
Farrier and vet boxes
American barn stabling
Loading ramp

I charge £15 a week DIY grass livery, and £30 DIY livery, which includes a stable with all of the above.

When can I move in??!! :D

I keep B on the wilts/hants border and I pay £35 a week for full grass livery and an additional £7 per week for him to be lunged twice - i.e. everything done for me during the week, including being brought in for farrier/vet and any rug changes he needs. He also gets a feed a day and I have the use of a stable when i want it.

By way of facilities they have a lit indoor school and a jumping paddock (which is really a mud paddock at the moment)

When he comes in at night over the winter, it will be more like 300 per month (incl. exercise)

erm yeah, starzaan, where are you and can i bring my boy there?!

I charge £20 p.w. for grass livery + loosebox per horse and a communal shelter.Fodder costs are shared equally. I do morning and evening feeds, rug changing as necessary, daytime hay, get horses in for the vet or farrier, and the owners don't need to come on a daily basis until the horses are stabled at night. I'll put horses to bed but they muck out their own, and mine. Nor do I expect them to come when weather's really bad - e.g. snow or ice, as we're a bit rural. Reading the posts on this I think I came down with the last shower - but I love being around horses and have lovely liveries, so what the hell......

Many thanks for the replies, it will give me and yard owner something to work with. My girl is a broodmare so needs no facilities other than a barn if it gets to horrid over the winter months:)

I'm in the Cotswolds... but you have to sign a contract saying that you will do everything within your power to get the farrier into my bed while your horse is with me!!!!
