So we've managed to obtain sponsorship from a livery's very generous OH, and now I've got to sort out a logo for our yard kit (jackets, hoodies, polos) but not entirely sure what! My OH is very handy with that sort of graphic design stuff, so is going to put something together - but just wondered if anyone has seen/got any good examples for inspiration?!

It's just a livery yard and we do a bit of everything - jumping, dressage, western and more, so I don't want something too specific to one discipline. i'd like something quite simple - have supplied OH with various pics of our horses jumping/galloping around the field but as he's not really horsey it'd be great to see some examples. The logo would go on the breast pocket of clothing and across the back of jackets.

Show and tell people!!

What is your yard name or do you have a Prefix name to give us something to work with?

eg My new logo is Eden Paddocks Sports horses as the name of my smallholding is 'Eden Paddocks' and when I have my badges embroidered I think I will have the 3 heads of my horses in the centre of the badge with the 'Eden Paddocks' over the top and 'Sport horses' underneath. On my rugs it will have the name of each horse eg 'Eden Paddocks Bizaria' then underneath it will say 'Sponsored by *****'. As you cover a several disciplines then 'sport horses' would cover yours too. :)

It's called Little Crockshard Stables, I'm not particularly keen on the name but kind of stuck with it :-(
Sport horses might be a bit of an exaggeration for some of our hairy cobs..! haha

Simple is usually better -for example, an outline of a horse is usually more effective than an attempt at a photo-realistic rendering of one. Might be worth asking the embroiderer or any other supplier that will be doing the logo-ing if there are any particular limitations for their methods. Some colours don't print well, for example, or the size might restrict the design.

Yes I'd like one that's nice and simple - no long flowing manes or trying to look too photographic! An outline would be good.

What about a very simplified outline of three horses doing different disciplines? Will try to describe what I mean (probably not very well!)

In the middle, horse doing dressage, facing head on. Then, coming out from the same vanishing point, a horse either side at an angle (like a 45 degree side-on angle) - one jumping, one Western (for example). You would only have the front ends of each horse visible. You could then put text above/below if you want.

ETA> have PM'd you.

Love that idea! I will try and convey it to my OH...
Thanks for the PM, nice logo.

I like the sound of the logo above if it will all fit in without looking crowded. You could just use the initials if you don't like the name?
