Can you peeps please help me out with my for sale ad,

I am selling Harry, due to no fault of his own, its just that we have the 2 and finances etc and my daughters college studies, we are finding it really hard to manage time for the both of them,

He is a 16.1 bay gelding tb registered with weatherbys, 9 yrs,
he has been schooled, done xc and she has schooled him Sj, he is willing in all these,
he has lovely paces, and Im sure would make a lovely dressage horse, he has no vices, is 100% in all ways, he is so laid back he is almost horizontal !,
he has a sweet loving nature and wouldnt hurt a fly,
He is the bay in my Sig " High Places"
I dont no what to ask for him ??
as i dont want people to be put off by being too cheap that they think there is something wrong with him when there is not, and too dear as to the fact he hasnt done a great deal with us,
I dont no any of his history before i bought him so I dont know if he has done anything ??

any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks

Jeanette x

If he's been regularly competed at say riding club level and is fairly consistent and has no vices I would expect to pay around the 5k to 6k.

If he hasn't been competed but has been shown fences and schooled at home I would expect to pay around 3k

My first thought would be around the £3k mark.

However, if he is nicely put together, and moves straight - perhaps just under the £4k mark.

Sounds like what I have been looking for - most of the ads sounding like that have been around £3000. Move him further south and sell him next year and I'll have him!

as its not very often you come across horses with a tempermant like his,

if he's wetherby's registered, tracing his history including breeding should be easy. is he an ex racer? whats his name on his passport? is it high places as in your sig? i'll try help in finding out his background etc, all I need is his wetherby's registered name

If you don't want to sell him, why don't you try loaning him? No more financial worry for you (although you don't get a lump sum from his sale) but you can still see him whenever you like and it's only temporary, say until your daughter finishes college.
I'd love to loan him, but am really looking for more of a plod, than something to compete, although I am only down the M62 a bit, near Goole, if you are in West Yorks!

I'd be tempted to advertise him at £3,300 ot there abouts & then that gives you a little lee way to allow a prospective purchaser to haggle the price down by a couple of hundred or so. They will be happy as they've got some money knocked off & you will be happy as you've got the money you wanted for him.
