Hello Everyone. I have a full size cute pony named Sargent. He is an amazing jumper (When the rider has leg, and is confident)! However we having troubles with my confidence. From previous experiences, Im scared about Sargent refusing. (Which he can if, again, you don't have leg and your not confident about that jump eg. a filler jump - something spooky - ) And I have had surgerys on teeth and broken bones from other ponies (not from Sargent) refusing.. So im petrified coming to a jump im unsure... Can anyone help with my mental side of issues... Before I had the accidents with refusals I was very confident doing 80cm eventing etc... now Im withdrawing all my SJ and XC events in 45cm eventing! I love the sport and Sargent.. please help

Now Sargent. He is good and all... But can anyone give me tips to insure I can go back to 80cm eventing with him and be sure that he will at least trust me to jump the jump together?? I do have a method where i do growl at him.. but I dont wanna do that all the time other wise it will become something consistent and I dont wanna ruin someones effort to train him (with the growl) so well!!! The other problem with this is that he is a pony that rushes into fences so trying to control him and put him to a jump in a trot is far from possible (but our flat work is amazing - we always come 1st in our dressage eventing - ) Im still trying to work on not to half seat to a jump.... and If he does refuse how to stay on... haha!

Thanks - any suggestions will help... !!! Mentally or physically!
