Hi All

My mare foaled a gorgeous filly on Sunday. She is just the cutest, cheekiest character and we are all besotted with her. I am absolutely useless with names and H&H forum was fab when I was picking a show name for my mare so I'm back with begging cap in hand.

Her sire is Ramiro B and Dam is Radharc Na Mara by Killea Hill View out of a Kildalton Gold Mare.

For her passport name I would like to use the prefix Millstone, as this is the hill that our house is on. Other than that all we have come up with is Millstone Ramiro (obvs connection.) but for some reason I am really struggling to settle on a stable name for her. Any ideas? Not Milly, as mum is called Molly. I like more unusual names. The best my kids have come up with are Jonathan, Sebastian and Doncun ( yes, she is a filly, but my 6y son cant seem to get his round that these are more male type names :D) and my 2y daugfhter wants to just call her foalie LOL!

All help and ideas much appreciated. I'll try and attach a picture. (She is grey/will grey out)Mollys Foal.jpg

I'm useless sorry, but just offering solidarity. OH still calls my yearling filly "Dave", he offered it as a suggestion before she had even stood up for the first time and seems to have stuck.
When i was a kid I named our tom cat Belinda. at least I had the excuse of being too young to know better.

she's beautiful :)
I thought Ruby.

I do love the thought process of kids when they come to naming things. Bingo was another (currently my daughters favourite song), which I thought might work, but I don't think she suits being Bingo.

I do like Ruby though! Thanks :)

I would alter Millstone Ramiro to Millstone Ramira as it makes it more feminine and then I would call her Amira which doesn't rhyme with Molly so she will learn the sound. Plus Amira means princess so job done LOL! :D:p;)

Ooo this is a good idea too, thank you!
