I'm looking for a compact horsebox with a good payload 6.5 tonnes I think would be ideal but would consider short 7.5 tonnes does anybody know where I could try and find something like this. I really don't do mechanical so I quite fancy the idea of a company to buy from where I have a bit of come back if there is a problem. Any suggestions greatfully received

sorry you forgot the most important bit!!! how much are you thinking of spending???

Solitaire are brilliant and have completely looked after our box for us and been more than helpful (we are also completely unmechanical) Their newer boxes are more compact than the older ones and all of them are very solid and reliable, can't reccomend them enough.

Not sure of your personal situation but we were always told that the length of the lorry didn't hugely effect the way it was to drive as it was the width that was more influential and from personal experience we were very very grateful to have the extra space!

thanks for all your help was thinking about 20 to spend the reason I'm thinking of going down the size is duff shoulders and I find stupid things like the big streering wheel a pain (I know I'm a really pathetic sounding girl)

the latest 7.5 ton lorrys are much easyer to drive and the pick of the bunch IMHO is the Daf LF thats what chassis I would choose or the latest MAN TGLs which came out in 2005 so most will be pricey but they are fantastic they even have an auto gearbox option on some
try www.kevinparkerhorseboxesltd.co.uk he builds on the LF

Apparently DAF's are very bendy (??) and so the seals to the living etc are always breaking but have also heard that they are good to drive.
