Hi
Building my welsh up for jumping slowly.... Just at pole work/ cross poles stage.
Anyone got any good 'simple' polework exercises to keep him intetested...? Mainly need to work on rhythm in canter....
He's 14'1 - what distance would you set up the following:
A) trot poles
B) canter poles
C) cross rail jumps
Can you be specific with the no. Of strides i.e how many human strides in between each, whether i walk the stride etc as sum ppl on here talk about 'dolly' strides which app is boot to boot, almost like granny foot steps?? And sum walk a standard human stride?.... Im sure after practice today my boy is 3 of my strides to 1 of his....
As you can guess im no show jumper! Lol.... Iv jumped randomly once in a blue moon i.e ligs, somerford park, messing in arena etc but mainly always done flatwork and hacking but now my Welshys 6 & shows a liking & huge scope to jumping im thinking why not give it a go!!
Just want to do it right & build his confidence slowly as hes a spooky sod!!
Any help/tips/exercises etc
Thanks guys!!!
