Help with Reolink camera

Trying to revive my Reolink foaling camera to help a friend, whose horse has been having some health issues and she needs eyes on the stable for a couple weeks to help diagnose.

YO has kindly given her the staff WiFi code but after some faff, I’m thinking our camera might not have WiFi capability. I swore it did but who knows. Things were very stressful when I bought it.

Can someone confirm that this doesn’t have WiFi, and my friend needs a SIM?

I assume there’s no way to record to the memory card without an internet connection? Can’t see one, but are we missing something?

Cheers. Nice to know we’re not idiots now, though we may have been in June 2021. We had it set up in a field, and the YO at that yard ran her personal internet off a dongle because there was no broadband. So it wasn’t an issue we discovered.
 
Had mine installed very recently. They are wonderful things. Love watching the horses while I'm sat at home. Amazing.
 
The blink cameras work off WiFi. And are battery powered. (Got to use lithium batteries normal ones just don't last.
Really good camera however you do need to pay a yearly subscription after a while.
 
Got a SIM card. Just can get the bloody thing to work.

Won’t connect to the phone. No light on suggesting it has power. Can’t figure out if it’s buggered from being in storage for four years or if we’re being useless.

You might have tried this but try taking battery out of camera and charging it that way. It also has a reset button you can press. You need a pin or something to press it. The website is quite good for trouble shooting. Also try uninstalling the app on your phone and re installing it. When its working it will talk to you.
 
We had quite a few sim card issues when setting ours up originally, helpline were good. But that's a few years ago now, and ours not currently connected
 
Yeah, no light. Currently playing with it in the flat. Turned it on and off. Tried different cables. Reset button did f all.

Haven’t tried taking battery out. Any advice on how?

Husband installed the app on his phone. Nae luck.
 
You just unscrew it and the battery will come out if you turn it upside down. Maybe battery not charged up properly? Another thing is make sure sim card in properly. Mine is really fiddly. It sounds more like a battery problem if no light on. You can get replacement battery. Try contacting Reolink. They are helpful.
 
I don't think you can take the battery out on the GoPt, like you can on the Go....I have both and never take battery out of the Pt. Apologies if youve done this, but I think you need to charge it up on the mains, (it will have come with a lead for doing this, but my phone charger works with mine). And make sure the aerial is screwed on ( GoPt has one, and won't work without it) Reolink are super helpful, get in touch with them, they have never failed to get my cameras working again.
