Hi everyone just wondered if anyone could offer me and help on how to solve these problems i have with my mare?

1. Running out of jumos to either left or right in trot will go over perfectly in canter. She bolts off if u use a crop and side planks dont help runs off min she sees it.

2. head shaking and flinging when asked to move and in particular canter and generally would head fling throughout ride. shes ride in happy mouth snaffle gag on the second ring. i do have to keep a tight rein on her for her to collect her canter otherwise she just flys and rushes everything.

3. random stopping and spinning towards home while out hacking.

any advice for first time horse owner novice much appreciated.

I would first check all the usual is ok tack is fitting, teeth and back. I would then give a jumping rest and concentrate on flatwork only. Also get a decent instructor :)

Agree with annaellie. You've answered your own question with the head flinging, too tight a rein & if your a novice a common fault is to use too much hand & too little leg. The running out in trot could be anything from pain to simply being not forward enough or a lack of confidence from both/ either of you. Really you need a good instructor to see you both & help you progress.
