I have got the saddler coming out on Wednesday, but just wanted a heads up on opinions on the fit of this saddle?

Thanks :)

Is this a serious question? The saddle is clearly far too narrow for the horse?! Plus the fact it's got a narrow TB type gullet and head yet the pony needs a wide cob type head and panels. Not a chance in hell of making that saddle fit.

I agree, it's too narrow - you need a wider gullet for it to sit better on your horse's back and to not cause any discomfort or problems.

I know it's very ard to find the right saddle to fit both you and the horse - but don't risk one that doesn't!

You need to be able to fit 4 fingers from the wither to the pommel. Then atleast 2 fingers when your riding him as a rough guide. Also when you press on the pommel, the cantle must NOT lift up. Hope this helps.

No I thought I'd ask for a laugh?

The 'pony' is a half tb.

Isn't that what forums are for? Learning? FYI, I don't want to make the saddle fit.

Thanks for replies people :) The more constructively phrased ones were prefered, but hey ho.

My apologies. My point was that it's so clearly far too narrow that surely you must have known that?! Like putting a 18" saddle on a shetland as asking if it's 'a bit long maybe?' :o
