Have now tried 4 saddles and every one has been too low on her withers

Any makes which are good for high withered horses? Or anyone selling a saddle?

Budget- £300

I like cut back heads on a high withered horse find they sit better and also fit better. Maybe worth a look? Mine has high withers for ages he had to have a rear raiser pad but has finally built up the muscle.

Depends what you're looking for, but Thorowgood do a range specifically designed for the high withered horse, and they are fantastic. Have always been a leather freak myself, but like you, I had a limited budget coupled with a very hard to fit horse, and I am so pleased with my Thorowgood I would recommend to anyone!

I am trying out a Silouette close contact at the moment and that seems to be fine on my high withered monster. New it is £700 but I think that a second hand one would be around £300 as they seem to depreciate quickly. pm me if you want more details.

George is quite high withered and I managed to get a lovely Jeffries second hand saddle for him for £320, he does have to have a rear riser pad until he muscles up a bit more.

The thowogood hi wither Tb was the only saddle that we could find to fit H, I hated it, as it was synthetic, but it fitted him perfectly so I got used to it

Albion made the Style and now the SL dressage saddles with a thoroughbred tree specifically for high withered horses. I have one and its the only saddle that fits my TB with very high withers. They have "TB" after the serial number on the panel.
