Hi

I'm hoping that this is the right place to post this. The Ex-racers club is running an eventing clinic with Sarra Mayberry at the end of October. You don't have to have an ex-racer, it's open to all. I know you're not allowed to advertise on HHO so not including any details etc but just wondering where scottish peeps would suggest advertising it?

There is an article going in Scottish and Northern Equestrian Magazine, The Scottish Farmer and hopefully Scottish Equi-ads. It's also advertised online on the Exracers club, worldwideeventing and event riders association. Can anyone think of anywhere else that would be useful?

It's my first time being involved in the running of a clinic so just trying to cover all bases. If anyone can help then they can pm me for details or what not.

Thank you very much

Why don't you email the secretaries of the riding clubs local to the clinic?! You could get all the details from the BHS website and they may send an email round their members or put it on their websites for you! No idea about your trainer but i presume she will teach anyone not just people eventing already!

Good luck!

I've found the ad on the ex racers club site. Do you have more details about classes/prices etc? Also, do you think this will happen again in the future? It's definitely something I'd be interested in, but my horse won't be fit enough for 25th Oct.

It's being held on Sarra's yard in Thornhill, Stirling so 20mins from the Stirling services if you are coming off the motorway.

It's 90min shared sessions and you can just do as much or as little as you or your horse want to. We are hoping to make it a regular thing and also have a SJ, SJ trainer and dressage rider/trainer lined up for ERC clinics in Scotland. It's £20 for 90mins for an ERC registered horse or £25 to non-members. It's open to all, you don't have to have an ex-racer to participate or to support ERC and spectators are welcome.

Not sure if my 2 will be ready either as getting sarcoids treated and their tack interferes. If they heal up ok then they won't be very fit with just 4wks work but will just take it easy and stop once they've had enough. You should come along if you can

You can either nominate who you would like to share a session with or you will be paired with someone of an equal standard and wanting to work on the same things. You can pm me your email address for an application form or more details. Thanks for your suggestions

I really think I'd get more out of it if I waited 'til the next time. My mare is just coming back from 3months of due to a suspected hairline fracture in her pelvis, and I'd definitely be wanting jumping training as well as flatwork. Please post/PM about future events though, it's a cracking price and not all that far away from me (South Queensferry-ish).

Are you thinking of organising any XC/jumpcross type training? I think you've covered most bases. Other ideas might be posters/flyers at local show centres such as Dabbs, SNEC, Ingliston, Kingsbarn etc?

Sorry to hear about your mare, hope she's bad to full fitness soon.

Yeah, plan is to hire a xc course next time and have sessions with a trainer. any ideas or suggestions just pm or email me via here or erc website. Then some SJ, dressage and more "eventing" clinics through the winter to keep everyone going.

Thanks for the suggestions will try that!

Cheers, it's very frustrating as last summer it was 5months off for tendon sheath/annular ligament injury!

I'm sure she does stuff just to get a summer holiday!

Maybe towards the end of winter if her recuperation is going well we can start looking into training sessions, so I'll bookmark the ERC site and try to remember to keep an eye on it!

I just got my very own trailer on Sunday, so now I finally have wheels to get to things, all I need is a sound, fit horse!

I've never done XC before, so defnitely keen to get some lessons in when she's fit enough and hopefully we can do a few unaff. ODEs next year.

Thanks Bebe, hopefully you got the email!

Anyone else interested can pm me their email address for more details. Don't want to post them all on here in case it's taken as advertising.

Thanks
