hi all, im hoping to do the trailblazers 1st round showing on march 25th. i was thinking of doing ridden hunter, ridden non traditional coloured and possibly the cob class. i was just wondering what sort of things the judges expected as never competed at this level before. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanksssss :)

Its just like normal showing, but has the opportunity to register if you qualify and then go onto the second rounds (I haven't done it for a couple of years and assume hasn't changed much). If you then qualify at the 2nd round you can go to the finals (it was stoneleigh when we went)

As far as what it involves, group ridden, then in line, individual show, can't remember if they make you untack and run up - but I'm sure there must be some advice on the website??? Much the same as a proper local show? Anyway there are always stewards who direct you.

BTW good luck and they are meant to be enjoyed, so have fun!

thanks, i used to show my old mare but it was very low level and the rules werent properly enforced. i just wondered will it matter if my tacks brown and my hat and boots are black as i know thats slightly incorrect, also i used to have all black tack so had a cavesson bridle in black. i now have a comfort one for stressage and dont really want to shell out on a cavesson bridle unless i absolutely have to, though i gather i do haha so can someone put me out of my misery and tell me to part with my cash. also could someone tell me the standard like the gallop, how strict are they, will a medium canter do

Hi,

Wondering how you got on? Where about's was the show? It could suit some of my younger pupils, so would be interested to know how it ran.

Kindest regards,

Scott :)
