I have been roped into showing a friends terrier at the east of england tomorrow...Do I have to wear anything special? and what do you have to do she is 18 months old and I think she will sit when asked

What is she?
I usually show in my jeans unless its a big show then it's pale trousers for a dark dog and dark trousers for a pale dog. With a sensible but not granny-fied top (as you'll have to bend to show her!!)
You'll have to stand her like this:
Only you'll most likely have a table to stand her on if she's small. And dependent on which Terrier she is, her tail will either be held like my lads in this piccy or my Terrier in this one:
The judge will go over her and then ask to see her move, she wants to go faster than a walk but no faster than a trot:
Has she shown before? You don't want her to sit down. And it'll help if she's used to strangers approaching her and running their hands along her and looking in her mouth.
The judge will tell you where he wants you to run, don't go first then you can watch what everyone else does!! It's usually stack the dog, run together once, stand individually for the judge, run a triangle then up and down - or to the back of the line. Once the judge has looked at every dog you'll have to stack her back up again and they'll walk the line and pick the winners. IF they're struggling to choose they may go back over the dog or ask you to move again.
Go for flat shoes or trainers - you'd be surprised at how easy it is to fall flat on your backside in the regardless of the surface!!

We got third out of six... 
it was a puppy class and we were a little distracted but she did stand still for treats
the judge asked me what is it I foolishly said I dont know its Adam's perhaps he gave me third for comedy value, thanks for your help I wore jeans in the end

He poss meant is she a he/she - was it a Terrier show or a KC Terrier show? (does that make sense

They usually just ask how old they are. Glad you enjoyed it - I cant wait to get my puppy out, I've qualified my older dog for Crufts next year

She is a parson...It was just a terrier show..I didnt have a clue what he meant I thought it was perhaps breed and I couldnt remember if she was a parson or not tee hee

It's not that posh, it's noisy and that green carpet is so damned slippy!!! LOL this year I ricked my ankle and my dog went lame shortly after I did
