the horse i might be getting hates being left out by himself. i thought to myself thats fine because he be in the with the others!
wrong!!!

he has got to be in a isolation paddock for two weeks, he wouldnt be able to see the other horses because their right on the other side of the yard!

help anyone?
tips etc i am pooing myself thats his gonna go and hurt himself or get out and be in serious danger cause there is a huge main road by the yard!

Well if it's hot I am sure it will be ok. See how it goes the first day and be sure and keep lots of good hay out to keep him busy. He may be stressed, but I doubt he will go through the fence. If the horse is so bad you think he is going to hurt himself just by being alone I may steer clear altogether as that does not sound very sane to me
 
Would you be able to keep him in for the first couple of weeks, until he can go out with the others? You could alway give him an hour or so out grazing in hand and turn him out in the isolation paddock while you are there (and keep some food handy just in case he does flip).
 
no i cant even have a stable in the two weeks.

i can be there all day for him but obv. cant stay all night lol

he is such a beaut! all i was told is that he goes beserk if left on his own.
 
Maybe I would find a horse that does not go "beserk" at all???? That would put me off.

I know all horses can have thier moments and quirks , but this does not sound very sane to me

It is normal to be "stressed" but then settle into things and calm down. The word "beserk" would scare me a bit

what if you were taking him somewhere down the line by himself? How does he haul when removed from his herd? I would be skeptical and find out more
 
My mare is like this...hates to be alone...panics.
But if you could buy a little bit of electric fencing, and make a little outdoor stable, with hay and water bucket, he won't be able to work himself up or injure himself...and if he's quiet you can gradually increase the size of the little paddock.
Most horses that create a fuss have separation anxiety for a specific companion..you might find he's ok if there's no one at the yard he knows.

i hope so and thanks nepenthe if i do get him i shall do that, tho the isolation paddock it pretty small in itself lol

do you think it will help if i am there all day with him?
 
Yes it may help if you are there all day, but try not to get stressed and worked up when he is-he will pick up on it, ignore the stressey behaviour and reward any calm behaviour i.e grazing or something sensible with pats etc.
