te and jump him regulary. If so what are good supplements and any recomendations ?
Just wondering might be a bit of a stupid question thanks x

they say prevention is better than cure, there is so much out there to chose from it depends on various things really, glucosymine and chrondroitin are excellent for joints so anything with these in would be beneficial for an aging horsey or pony

You might be best popping in to your local feed store and talking through with them what they might recommend, assuming they are knowledgable. A lot would hang on what you are already feeding, the condition of your pony, whether clipped and rugged. If you are already feeding a mix in large enough quanities, for example, it may already have all the vits and mins or probiotic you need.
If, on the other hand you are giving very little hard feed because your pony is well covered then you may need to add more.
There is a case for adding a mobility liquid or powder to feeds as a preventive measure, but it is important to get the basics right first.

my pony is well covered and has a good portioned feed containing - scoop of chaff , mix , garlic , and small amount of sugar beat x thank you for your help much apprecated x

I have used supplejoint formula in the past and found it stop my horses joints from clicking. Beware of changing your mix though if he is already fizzy. the ingredients of veteran mix are not that different than competition mix and it is the only thing I ever fed my mare that sent her loopy. If his general condition is good then stick with your current feed and add a supplement

We have a few old times on our yard but they really are older, in their mid twenties. My boy is 11 and I feed him Equine America's cortaflex powder as a precaution. The old boys are on Old Faithful with garlic and oil added to their feeds. My friend has a 17 year old who still does everything. She gets him checked by a physio every 6 months and feeds garlic, cortaflex and equine gold. He looks fantastic !!!
