i have been asked to go gate shutting soon and i havnt gone out with the hunt for ages!!! can anyone quickly go over dress code for me? i think i have it sorted but i thought i best go over it before i go! also wondering if i can wear a tie instead of a stock as the only stocks i have are a white with blue spots and a white ready tied one, i know your not ment to wear a white ready tied stock with a hacking jacket- (i am wearing a hacking jacket)

Either the spotty stock or a shirt and tie will be fine with the hacking jacket. Whatever you feel most comfortable in.

Nope, coloured stocks in spots or checks are always worn with a hacking jacket (within reason, I wouldn't recommend a hot pink one), a white stock should only be worn with the black/navy/red hunt coats during main season.

Equally a shirt and tie is totally acceptable with your tweed jacket.

It is correct to wear a hacking jacket with a shirt and tie for gate shutting but TBH you can wear anything for it.
