a girl at my yard loans one of my horses to hack out and groom etc the yard owner just phoned me to tell me that my horse has been left in a stable with 2 rugs on (she hates stables and only need rugging in v. cold iicy waether, hot horse!) and with a so called cut leg that needs the vet and then just left! YO called me saying the horse hasnt cut its leg, shes fine just hot and stressed from the stable! the girl who loans her didnt even call me! :eek: what do i do because i know dont feel i can trust her and can not go to the yard tonight to see the horse myself! help!!! (the horse hasnt cut its leg and YO is turning it back out! but what do i do about the girl who just decided to leave my horse in a stable wich she knows the horse hates! and leave her there with out telling anyone not even me!)

Have you explained fully to her about the stable and that you expect her to call you if she has problems ect? If you have then it would be bye bye loaner from me!
 
What do you want us to say

You loan your horse to someone you dont trust, you dont trust your yard owner and have no way of going to check your horse.

Nothing we can do, you need find a way to get there or take the yard owners word

Sounds like your arrangements need reviewing.

no i trust the YO and did trusst the girl shes always been really good before
 
If you trust your yo then speak to her again to clarify the situation with your horse if you really can't go down to check yourself - arrange a face to face meeting with loaner to find out what she was doing if you are not happy terminate the agreement - that's me being diplomatic - you could always tell her to do I as you no longer trust her !!
 
Call the loaner and speak to her, ask to hear from her why the horse is in with rugs on. If she says it's because of a cut ask exactly where it is so your yard owner can check again.

No idea what posting on here is going to achieve, why not just call the loaner and ask?

Is she on full loan, if so, why did the YO phone you? Is there a dispute between YO and your loaner?

ive asked the YO to check and turn the horse out (costing me money) and will talk to the lonee just a bit disaopinted in her as i do have my own stable/hay/straw etc (for another horse) but she just assumed i''d pay for all the extra stuff and put my horse in someone else's stable!!!!!!! :mad: oh well ill sort it out once i can walk lol

Sorry, it would have helped if you had posted that to start off with.

Agree to ringing the loaner and telling her to go back and sort it. If you cant end the loan because you need her to look after the horse, then arrange a meeting and give her a list of do's and donts with your horse.

If she refuses then ring the yard owner again and ask for help. Perhaps someone else on the yard could help you out, do you have their contact details.

If someone from our yard rang in these circumstances I wouldn't mind going back to check their horse.

its an odd loan she does the horse wenever she wants knowing that the horse can only be hacked wont load/stable etc she knows all the particulars but i pay for everything. and no i dont think so not sure though the yard owner is doing my other horses at the moment though so.....

yes sorry relised that after i posted it! i never got her number witch i know sounds really stupid and ive definatley learned a lesson because i saw her everyday up there and would see the horse myself! only now im stuck! i trust the yard owner and just asked her to do what she thought was best for the horse (check and turn out, because apparently YO says there is no cut!)
 
Hope you feel better soon:). It's horrible when you're not well and have to rely on others, esp if you're flat out and feeling relatively powerless:(
