My horse has been kicking her door whenever I’m not giving her attention. Even when she’s got food. How do I stop this as it’s as soon as she sees me and it’s so annoying!!!

How happy is she on a day to day basis? Does she have time out with others and other horses around whilst she is in the stable? Does she have plenty of food all of the time (as in not standing for hours in the stable without hay)? Is she exercised appropriately (which could be with good turnout, but would likely need to be more if she is on a postage stamp paddock)?

If she is leading a full life, then I would be strict about not going to her, showing at her or looking at her when she bangs. I would stand still and look elsewhere until she has been silent, before resuming what you were doing while she is silent.

The trouble is, everyone else on the yard has to be on board with that as well for it to be effective.

Nail some carpet to the door to deaden the sound. Or fit a stall guard and leave the door open when you are there.
