Hi All,

I have ayoungster who has capped his hocks, he has been on bute from the vet but no signs of doing anything.

I just wondered if anyone had used a freezer hock boot and what the outcome was?

Is there anything else i can try to get them down?

how long will they take to go down?

Thanks in advance

Never experienced this myself PH but the riding school horses (sadly) often developed this through no bedding and having to lie on concrete. My understanding is it is excess joint fluid within the joint - not sure if this is the body's own defence to try to protect the joint or if it is just mechanical due to repeated trauma. I guess the result is the same and I would guess it will take some time for the normal synovial fluidlevels to be re-established. I'd get El Vetto back if in doubt x
