My trainer broke her leg today XC schooling. She was air lifted to Salisbury hospital and is going into theatre tonight, but will hopefully make a full recovery.

Unfortunately I'm now entered for two events with absolutely no way of getting to them! I have a lorry I can use but no driver, as I passed after 1997 and my mum point blank refuses to drive anything larger than a van.

So, if anyone from my surrounding area (Sway, New Forest) is going to South of England on the 23rd or Charlton Park on the 30th (both September) please, please can I have a lift. Alternatively, if anyone has experience of driving lorries and is free either weekend to drive me and help groom it would be massively appreciated. (I'm supposed to be staying the whole weekend at SoE if anyone wants to make a weekend out of it!

) I'm going to ring both secretaries to withdraw Anna and ask for later times, we were due to be stabling at SoE as she was in the CIC** so my times are very early at the mo.

If anyone has any other ideas please let me know!! Unfortunately, (to complicate matters further!) Ferd also has to travel in a herringbone lorry as he falls over in trailers and forward facing boxes.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I can't help driving lorries, but if you want a groom for the weekend, i'd be more than happy to get out of london for the weekend. If you want a hand with all of the horses you have to do now too...

Oh no!!! Hope she's ok

Shame he cant travel forward otherwise you could have had my little lorry. My sister isnt going to either I dont think. Hope you find some way!!

Which day are you doing CP? If you can't get a lift, I am doing Sat Novice, but if you need a driver for Sunday I can do that assuming of course that I don't get put on Sunday, but I specifically requested Sat! OH is away for the weekend, so if you could make a small donation to my petrol from Bristol to you, I will come and drive you on the Sunday if that is any good? No help for SoE, but at least you might get to one? It would make more sense for me to drive the car to you then drive your lorry if I would be insured on it as my lorry is at Ferdies old house, so not exactly close to you!

Hope your trainer is ok.

Thank you Rachel! And thanks for being so helpful yesterday, I'm waiting to hear from Anna what she wants to do with her three. Anna's mum and myself are hopeful she'll want them on hols for 12 weeks as I really need all the time I can get to do my dissertation. Our builder has offered to drive to SoE if I'm desperate but hasn't driven a lorry before, still, at least I can actually go and it was very nice of him to offer!

Of course you are more than welcome to come ride Ferd (or any of the others, if Anna wants them fit) whenever you like, I'll appreciate the day off to spend at the beach!! (Diss research not sunbathing!) x x

Thanks J, she's got to be operated on again in a few days. There's a laceration on the front of her shin with bits of wood in it to the bone apparently!? The doctor thinks she'll be fine, just out of action for 12 weeks.

I did put him in my (now sold) rear facing lorry a couple of times and he was ok, but once he did seem to lose his footing and lean't on the outside of the box heavily so stopped using it. I wouldn't like to travel a long way in one though, but thank you for the thought!

Oh T, that would be fab!! I've asked for Sunday so will hopefully be put on Sunday. When I get to speak to Anna I'll see what she says, but her mum's already told me as long as 'prospective driver' can legally drive her lorry then she'll insure them on it for the day. Are you sure that would be ok though? Anyway, I'll let you know what Anna says, thank you!!

And she'll be fine, she's a tough cookie..

Yep, it's no problem, OH is away for the weekend so I am free to do what the heck I like! I have my LGV licence for anything rigid up to 30 tonnes so as long as the lorry is not an articulated one I can legally drive it! Can never remember which class that is, but I know I can drive things oevr 7.5 tonnes as well as the littler ones! Well, if CP ever put section lists up (the ballot took long enough!) we'll be able to see if it would work or not! And I am sure if needs be the organisers would swap one of us, after all it is for a good reason. I really do not want to compete on Sunday as I would have to go on my own which I am feeling a bit pathetic about doing after my fall, so I am really hoping they have put me on Sat!

Oh, you're a star!! CP's been exceptionally slow, haven't they? I spoke to the sec yesterday to withdraw Anna and she said they were very over subscribed.

It's a 7.5t Cargo, so not enormous but it is a three horse so a bit long. I'll let you know and fingers crossed you're on sat!

ETA - If you are on Sunday and I manage to get there, never fear, myself and Rachel/Rachel's mum will be there to help you out!
