Hi Everyone!

In a couple of weeks, I moving my horse from Hertfordshire to Leeds. Does anyone have any tips to help him settle in to his new home? I want to try and make it as easy free as possible on him.
Thanks

Is he going to live in or out??

If he's going to be living in, I would recommend putting a nice large hay net up, a nice fresh bed, lots of clean water in his stable and leave him to it. Don't fuss too much and make it nice and quiet for him so he settles himself. Make yourself known, so he can see you are there, but don't be over the door every 2 minutes checking on him. He'll be fine :) Food and a nice bed will settle him, along with peace and quiet.

If he's living out, it depends on the type of horse he is and the yard layout. Whether he is dominant or more laid back? If they are turned out individually or in groups? If he's quite laid back, I would say turn him out with one other quiet horse, and leave them to it, then introduce slowly to the herd (if they're out in groups).

Good luck with your move, I hope he settles well and all goes smoothly!! :D
