About a month and a half ago a friend took on a 4 year old pony who suffers from stifle lock. We have been lunging in walk and long reining up hill to try and help build up muscle which sempt to be working and then two weeks in rebacked her and everything was looking fine. Since last week however, when we start walking when saddled up, her right back leg keeps popping out and back in with each stride, causing her discomfort but not pain.
What should we do? Should we carry on with light work on the ground and/or mounted or turn her away until next spring and see whether she grow out of it? If it helps she also is living out 24/7.
Any exercises, therapy ideas or advice is welcomed as we both have no previous experience with this condition and want to do the best to help this little pony!

hi
If a vet hasn't had a look, then definitely advise an equine vet sees what she or he thinks.
Physiotherapy or Osteopathy could be therapies worth trying :)
