Looking to help with in stables but have no experience, did riding 7 years ago, but looking to help out with mucking out. Been told I need I'm not able to cause of insurance purpose's and lack of knowledge. How did other people start volunteering in stables?

Thanks

Get yourself third party insurance. If you join the BHS under their gold membership it comes as standard. It's about a fiver a month.

Private owners might not be so insurance conscious, and if no money changes hands so long as they aren't negligent you do it at your own risk. Or look for your local horse rescue/sanctuary and offer to volunteer - they usually have the necessary insurance. Have you tried posting a notice offering your help in your local saddler/feed store or in your local horse owners group on Facebook? You could come here if you were close enough
