Well it's Wednesday & peeing down here, whos all going? What does everyone think the ground be like? It rained here all weekend, dry Monday & Tuesday but heavens opened this morning, I'm about 40 miles away & weather forecast is rain rain & more rain!! :(

A few years ago we had similar weather and they ran and we all got towed in and and out. Then on the second day they ran again and it was a total bog. Towed in and out and an hour long tail back out on to the road as it took so long to get people in.

They are not people to give up easily

OMG! I do hope it runs - as we haven't had a run since Aske a month ago, with Hutton and Central Scotland both cancelling their 2nd days - and we go to Blair on Tuesday!!

I am absolutely sure that Hendersyde will run if it possibly can!!

However, I think they had a little bit of flack from the locals in Kelso after the event 2 years ago, because of all the mud that was dragged through the town on the undersides and wheels of the lorries that had been dragged in and out!!! You can see it from both points of view I suppose, but we are crossing fingers and toes that it can run!

Weather forecast not much good for Blair either - can't be bothered with August in Scotland the last few years!!! If Blair want to get the European Champs in 2015, I do hope the YR Europeans aren't a wash out this year!!

S and pingy pony will be there on Sunday if it runs!!!:D

Has rained throughout the night and still raining now :(

Local consensus is that Hendersyde will do its very best to still run despite the horrendous weather. Fingers crossed for all of you that it does.

Mr NJ was competing the year they were towing lorries in and out. At the time we only lived 10 mins drive away and then waited an hour and a half to get towed in - and then Mr NJ didn't run xc because the ground was too deep!!!

:( I got a late entry in to run on Sunday, kinda wishing I hadnt bothered now! Everything crossed it dries up but wont hold my breath, still peeing down in town and at the yard and we're about 45mins away or there abouts.

Just saw on facebook that the Scottish horse show is now canceled due to deteriorating ground conditions which is held at Springwood park in Kelso.

Well, I can't see me risking my precious baby bear in this weather. What's the point? There are plenty more competitions, safer to save him for another day:(

I just hope they make a sensible decision and don't try to run at all costs.
I also don't fancy sitting to be towed on for an hour plus  Surely if it is that bad the ground cannot be ok to run. I do wonder if they will try and run the Saturday as it is the Scottish Champs day and Sunday will be lost as at Hutton and Scone.
Do events never reschedule or is there just too much involved in doing that?

Not sure Iv ever heard of anything rescheduling, although I would be happy to run in a few weeks if they did!

I suspect I may be going SJ again this weekend if the weather doesnt pick up :( Would rather that than risk injury on what is likely to be very deep ground on Sunday! :(

Well I've stayed quiet as made the decision on Tuesday not to run regardless looking at the wetaher reports then as alas my chunkey munkey is not fond of muddy conditions think it's because he sinks more and has to work harder and being one of the last to go xc I expect the going won't be the best!So there is always another day for us.If it goes ahead I hope the sun shines on you all!!!

Smurf & Flyingcoo I'm thinking along ur lines to, what the point!! Still raining here, forecast said it would clear up this avo but not looking likely here, like you darkhorseb I hope they make a sensible decision! There is bsja on at snec on sunday which is indoors for my plan b option!!

Mmmm indeed see Sherrifhall roundabout closed to deal with flooding so hope they don't have same hassle at weekend as will need to put loads of time on journey if getting towed in too!!!

I would hope they change their mind tomorrow as if this continues i very much doubt it would be safe to run anything more than a duck race!

Update just posted on BDWP

WEATHER UPDATE - The event is still going ahead at the moment with a weather forecast that is very hopeful.

The XC going is very good. Please leave more time to get into the event as larger boxes will need towing in to save the ground.

Well all I can say is they must have watched a VERY different forecast to the one I have just seen on the local news...
Hmmmm indeed

Darkhorse - you've seen my pic from my drive to do horses 45 mins ago! Water so deep in the boys' field that it's above the top of my Hunters. I'm getting conflicting weather reports, from just light rain forecast, to light rain in the morning followed by heavy rain in the afternoon with strengthening winds. Take your pick!
