Has anyone owned one? If so, are they worth buying?
I am looking for a cheap monoflap eventing saddle and have come across the Henri De Rivel Eventing Saddle (also known as the york saddle on the Shires Website).
Here is the link: http://www.shiresequestrian.co.uk/shop/product.php?productid=853&cat=582&page=2
Thank you

my friend had one (just sold it!) and she said it was the best, most comfortable saddle she has ever sat in! (unfortunatly it didnt fit properly but her mare is not quite balanced)

So Id say they are certainly worth a look!

we've had them and they didn't fit ANYTHING! Sister found them comfy but my legs were too short and so they were really painful on my calves as the blocks were in the wrong place.

Does anyone know why they are massively discounted at the moment? Seem to be almost half price - one would be tempted to buy if fitted ponio ('thinking about getting a fitter to try one out) but the discount seems strange?

I have one and I love it! Also ridden out in two or three others and they are comfy and a good price - would wonder if the price has been artificially bumped up to make the 'reduction' look bigger as I know I didn't pay a lot for mine (can't remember exactly but it was defo less than £500). I far prefer it to the Ideal jumping saddle and Jefferies Falcon I've had in the past, it's a good lightweight saddle and we use them on most of the TBs on the yard. I think there are 'old' and 'new' versions though, with one getting pretty bad press - if you search sure there's been threads about them before...
