Hi, so sorry I didn't get to see you
frown.gif
I looked out for CCJ but never saw her number. I hope you had a great day?
I did catch up with Wishful, who was fence judging and I found out that her other half is our vet!!!!

gosh you must be very local to me if Ashley is your Vet!!! (he used to live here)
we were parked in the first field tucked right in the corner under a tree, so not surprised you missed us.
Mixed day to be honest, Chocx is really idle in hot weather and today at 1 o'clock was boiling.
he started fabulously with all 8's then in the first canter decided to break into trot, C was driving him forwards furiously but he got a 3 for that (

)
The rest of the test was a mixture of 7/7 and 6, he got 8 for his paces but poor C got a 6 for her riding.
Chocx owner was actually writing for the judge in the next arena and she had finished, so they sat and watched the test too. Then his owner had a natter with our judge, who said C needs to be much nastier to him really, she rides beautifully but needs more agression when he decides to throw in the towel.
C was furious with him as with a stick he never tries to back off or does that at home!
His owner warmed her up for the Sj and they jumped a lovely round only to have the planks down when his canter got a bit long, but overall a very nice round.
Off to the Xc and he was quite hard work. He jumped clear and well within the time but he has lost some of his fitness due to being stabled more and he really does hate the heat .
We all talked afterwards and his owner is coming up next week to help C (she knows her stuff having been in the first 20 at Badminton twice) we plan to change his feed slightly, get him even fitter etc and do an Un aff ODE where she can carry a whip..

He ended up 11th and we were disappointed at the 35 dressage but there are lessons to be learned when you get 8's and a 3!!!
How did you do, we have just got in after that marathon drive, we stopped for a meal half way and C is outside doing the horses now.
We have Winkleigh on Sunday with jacques for a mini ODE (2' 3") then Lustleigh Show on Monday with other horses, so a busy weekend.
Which jump was wishful stationed at?

Wishful was at fence 2 but her OH is Nick?

I'm trying to guess where you live but I don't recognise your name.

A mixed day for you then, i'm sorry to hear that. Who helps you with your flatwork? I'm very lucky to have my trainer right on my doorstep, he rides at Grand Prix level and has done the sunshine tour this year

Boo now has a rest for a few days, then it's time to start doing some serious flatwork with him. He then heads to West Wilts.

Hi sue! I was looking out for you too, but couldnt see the horsebox....we were in the first field, as you drove in, right over in the top right hand corner?

It was absolutely boiling....have really burnt my nose!!! Spoken to everyone back in London/Kent and the weather is appalling,,,cold gale force winds and rain!!

Apart from the 3 in the dressage, sounds like a fairly good day?

Argh, wrong vet, yes that's our vet too! (we had several vets living in one of our cottages and I got him confused).
Chris Dannan helps C and normally she gets under 30, but being 16 he hates the heat.. I should have said the rest of the test were 7/8 and the odd 6, but doing Aff BD this winter should fix the idleness, it's infuriating he only does it when in a comp where he knows she has no whip!!!
If your trainer is who I suspect, we did contact him but there was a condition attached that you were not allowed to have any spectator even me who pays for the damn lesson, or ever use another trainer..... We declined as it sounded too precious for us! (I may however be way off beam as I was with the vet, so pm me for who that is..

I wouldn't have seen wishful then as I videoed from by the last fence..

How did you do?

She did a nice dressage test for my standards (34) (as usually i warm up nicely then go in to the ring and do pants!!) I could have asked for a little more from her, but was playing safe today

Rolled the pole on fence 3 in sj (lent forward too quickly, so probbaly could have avoided that one), and xc was awful!!! she was so much hard work i almost felt like giving up due to sheer exhaustion!! Got over the first 3 fences with lots of encouragement, then at fence 4 she was looking all over the place and i let her shoulder slip out on the left so we flew past the fence!! I also dropped my whip, and so had to complete the course without it (and believe me I needed it!!). we got round the rest with out any stops, but she just wasnt taking me into the fences...i had to do all the work!! She is a very careful mare and just seems to want to take her time over the fences and have a good look, but we seem to lose all momentum in doing so!! need to go hunting i think!!!

see you friday!

I saw Chocolate, good to meet Wizoz as well.

I was borrowing Nick's car as mine's in for an MOT - Black sports car - was fun getting it onto course without killing exhaust, bumper or sides - silly low thing! Fun to drive though...

Chocolate looked really good on XC - lovely stride to the fence - others were making a bit of a hash of it, and had a couple of refusals!

Also a couple of nappy incidents about 20 yards out - possibly because other horses were visible.

Loved Budi - gorgeous horse!

Ah thank you, he is rather

He has come home today, so he will be spoilt for a few days then back to hard work.

Oh no. I missed you too. Can't believe I missed Chocolate! We were in the first field right by the gate way.
I didn't really get a chance to watch may people though as I had to babysit both horse and child.
Our boy ended up 4th, it was only his 2nd PN and 5th event so we were really pleased with him.
