Yes the horrid one made me cry again today. But it was for the right reasons tonight.
I took him for a ride tonight he hasn't been ridden for over a week Just lots of lunging as i've been to buisy to ride him out. My OH came up to bring Lucy some Haylidge and shavings so i asked him if he would walk out with me on Herbie incase he was very horrid. I got him in and tacked him up (he's always well behaved with that now :D :D) I got on him in the road and  he walked streight on :) we set off up the road and a car came along and stopped to tell us there was a dog running around on it's own at the top of the hill. (i was a bit annoyed he had stopped as Herbie usualy uses this as an excuse to nap) But   He walked streight on again. We walked up the hill and at the top we didn't see a dog but there was a KILLER bull right by the fence. It was laying down and grunting so Herbie wasn't shore about it. My OH just took hold of the reins and led him passed :) We carried on up the road to the car park for the downs (Herbie always naps here and i have to get off ) But    we managed to go passed with only a little fuss :) The rest of the ride was good and we even had a trot up the side of a grass field and managed to wait for OH at the top. :D :D :D :D
I'm so proud of Herbie this is the first hack where i havn't needed to get off him. Even last time OH came out with us i had to get off as Herbie wouldn't move even with OH trying to lead him. I know tomorrow may be back to normal but this is a big step forward for the little man and hopefuly a glimps of the future full of fun hacks where Herbie works harder than i do :p :D :D.
Thanks for reading. Lots of party food alround if you got to the end. I'm so happy lets have a celebration. :D :D :D

Woo! I'm really pleased for you, I'm glad you are getting some obvious reward for your hard work! I think when you get a glimpse of how great it can be then it gives you the strength to keep on working at it to make it like that full time. Perhaps Herbie will realise that it's actually a lot easier when he doesn't play up and that strolling about the countryside can be rather lovely. Also, well done on finding a helpful and horse loving OH (mine is from Paris and a bit afraid of horses!). :D

Maybe one day Herbie and Belle will both be perfect hacking horses and you and I can traverse the countryside on our impressive mounts... hehe! Then we can stop for a picnic and stuff our faces with party food. :D *dreams*

LOL We can dream of having nice horses and we'll both get there one day i'm shore. OH didn't realy do horses before he met me but now he has no choice :p ;) :D.

Hah, good work! Mine has given Belle a brush and he has offered several times to help me poo pick but I'd feel too guilty to let him! I hope one day that we have a sensible horse for him to have a go on too. :)

All mine are to small for Steve to ride. 13.2hh, 12.3hh and 11hh. He did pretend to get on Herbie once as a joke and Herbie kicked him then turned round and tried to bite him. So i'm more impressed he still wants to help me with him.

ahhh yey!!!!! thats SUCH good news! and you are right tomorrow may go back to normal but tonight he has proved he CAN do it and he is trying for you! :) which is just lovely!

YEY for herbie! (and u n OH obv)

Thankyou lucy_nottingham. It prob will be back to getting off tom. But atleast he's getting better slowly but shorely. He looked so pleased with himself after the ride today.
